We love being part of downtown Prince George. Here are a few recent additions and plans in progress that we’re excited about!
1. Park House Condos
This landmark residential development is taking shape next to City Hall. Visit the Park House Condos Sales Centre inside the Ramada Hotel to learn more about Modern Parkside Living. More details are available on the Park House Condos website, including floor plans and building features.
2. New pool
A new pool is going to be built on the site of the former Days Inn Hotel that will replace the existing Four Seasons Leisure Pool downtown. We can’t wait to see the new facilities!
3. New hotels
The Courtyard By Marriott is a recent addition to our downtown landscape, and work is already underway on another new hotel development. The new hotel will feature 95 rooms and is being led by Mundi Hotel Enterprises Inc.
4. Local Businesses
Birch & Boar Charcuterie & Provisions recently opened opposite CrossRoads Brewing. They join other newly established local businesses that have opened their doors in downtown PG in the past 18 months, including Zen Noodle House, Ritual Coffee Bar and Trench Brewing.
5. Downtown PG Events
Downtown PG is home to several of the city’s most popular annual events that bring new something new every year, including Summerfest, Winterfest, BMO KidzArt Dayz and the Prince George Pride Parade & Festival.
One of the city’s newest events, the CrossRoads Street Festival Series, will be celebrating its second year in 2019 bringing outdoors sports and entertainment to downtown streets.
6. Farmers’ Market
The Prince George Farmers’ Market is thriving at their new location at 3rd and Quebec. Open indoors on Saturdays year-round, the outdoor section of the Farmers’ Market is open April – October.
7. Wood Innovation Square
Once the work on Wood Innovation Square, downtown PG’s newest park, is completed, the park will host the popular Foodie Fridays event during the summer. Order your lunch from a local food truck or restaurant booth and take in the live music.
8. Student Housing
A plan is in the works to bring student rental apartments to downtown Prince George. The proposed development will be constructed on Patricia Boulevard next to the Marriott Hotel and is great news for increasing the number of residents in the downtown area.
9. Library Entrance Project
Upgrades to the Bob Harkins branch will make this downtown hub more accessible for everyone. The new library entrance is expected to be completed in spring 2020.
